Norfolk Records of Knapp indicate that Alexander, was a son of Alexander Knap who mar. Mary Knapp, dau. of Ebenezer Knapp and Eliz- abeth Smith. They were of New Marlborough, Massachusetts.

V.303. Nathaniel Harrison Maltby, b. Norfolk, Conn., March 1786, bapt. June 4, 1786 (Benj.4, Dan.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). Mar. Oct. 16, 1811, Betsey Patchen, in Groton, Tompkins County, N.Y.; b. Dec. 27, 1788 and d. Nov. 28, 1836, and was buried in the Hill Burial Ground of Groton. He mar. (2) Dec. 26, 1837, Sally Mason, b. June 14, 1795; d. June 9, 1860, in Bristol, Trumbull Co., Ohio.

Nathaniel Harrison Maltby died in Bristol, Oct. 7, 1855, and with his 2nd wife, was buried in the Maltby Burial Ground at South- ington, Trumbull Co., Ohio. His children were all by his first wife. He was in the War of 1812, a soldier in a New York regiment.

A photograph of the old Homestead at Bristolville, Ohio, and numerous records of this branch of the family, were furnished by Miss Martha J. Maltby of Columbus, Ohio. The house is large, square and painted white, and is surrounded by beautiful old trees.
