Note. I have before me, a gift from Mary Love Maltby (Mrs.Higby), a photograph of VI.947, Seth Murray Maltby, who died aged 23. He has a very broad forehead, eyebrows low over the eyes, hair and eyes, apparently, dark; nose long and straight. He is wearing a very high white collar, which is open very wide, and a bow-tie stock. The waist coat is a deep V shape--a very appealing picture. On the back Mrs. Higby has written:--
"Seth Murray Maltby, eldest living son of Seth Murray Maltby, who was eldest son of General Isaac Maltby, whose wife was only child of General Seth Murray, whose wife was Jonannah Dickinson, whose father was General Lemuel Dickinson." The photograph was taken by "L. Sherman, No. 18 West Main Street, Rochester, N.Y."

"Obituary"
"The Hon. Benjamin Maltby, one of the pioneer citizens of the southern part of Erie County, a venerable man, honored and respected by all who knew him, has just passed away from the earth at the ad- vanced age of eighty-six years.
The place of his birth was Hatfield, Mass. Many years ago he removed to what is now the Township of Colden--having made a purchase there with his brother-in-law, Judge Love of Buffalo, of 15,000 acres of land.
For many years Mr. Maltby was a successful merchant at Glenwood, having chosen that romantic spot as the place of his residence when
