(Note by F.A.Molby. Rosa would appear to be the wife of Isaac. John would appear to be John Mulby, who attended school dur- ing the year, obviously not a son of Isaac and Rosa, if the age 18 was correctly copied).

Note. It seems very probable that John was a son of William and Lucina. If so, born in 1852.

The 1830 Census. William Maltby, who mar. in 1823, was taken only seven years after his marriage, but at this time he had 4 child- ren. The "male under 5" was probably Samuel Hugh, b. in 1828, or age 2 years. Therefore, there must have been 2 sons and a daughter older than Samuel Hugh, of whom we have no record. We can only list such children as we have found by name.

William Malby's grandson, Horace, b. 1849, wrote the compiler: of Pontiac, Mich., and presented to the Michigan Historical Comm., 1924. Vol. 2, p. 202.

"Molby, William, d. May 21, 1875, age 75 yrs."(His grave is in a cemetery near Clarkston).
