VI.667. Hiram Maltby, b. ca. 1810 (Isaac 5, Wm. 4, Jos. 3, Dan. 2, Wm. 1). He mar.(1)---- ----, and mar.(2) Angeline Otto, in Rochester, N.Y. John Maltby (7) above, b. 1846, wrote: "My grandfather Isaac, came first from Vermont quite 100 years ago, and settled in Naples, N.Y. Hiram died and was buried in the sea, on his way home from South Carolina. His dau. Mary, married Glass. Delevan was dis- charged from service, Dec. 27, 1862, he had been in service 18 months; Was in Libby Prison. Co. E. Third Michigan Infantry, d. about 1878.

VI.672. Betsey Maltby, bp. Feb. 7, 1810 (Edin 5, Noah 4, Jos. 3, Dan. 2, Wm. 1). She may be the following: "The Hist. of Farmington, Mo." gives the following:--"Ebenezer Nor- ton of Edgartown, Mass., b. 1805, mar.(2) Betsey Maltby, died in 1863.

(Note. Branford Records have "Aug. 24, 1788. Mar. Timothy Parmele and Maltby Norton." Surely "Maltby" was not given as a Christian name to a daughter. Evidently an error somewhere).
